A full pound lighter in the frame, the bike continues to use their patented VPP (Virtual Pivot Point) technology to produce a stable pedaling platform without resorting to lockout mechanisms.  The new Blur also gets upgraded with features already proven on their longer-travel LT and Nomad models, all of which are shown after the break.
The Blur will be available in the black with orange shown at the beginning of the post along with a “Silver” (shown above) and “Black” (shown below).  Click on the images in this post to enlarge them.

Why wood? Do you ask...
* Lightweight; a frame weighs from 3.5 to 4.5 pounds--bikes, 16.5 to 20 pounds.
* A magically smooth ride thanks to wood's unique ability to absorb vibration--you feel the difference immediately.
* Stiffness to order: from carbon-stiff hickory and others, to the supple smoothness of laminated bamboo; you can tailor the stiffness and ride to what you want, not just what comes off a production line.
* The hardwood frame is remarkably tough. It easily withstands impacts that ruin butted metal or carbon frames.
* The fatigue life of wood rivals carbon and is substantially longer than aluminum or steel. The Renovo is an heirloom quality frame.
* The Renovo frame is environmentally friendly, with sustainable woods, bamboo and low VOC waterborne sealers and finishes.
While a little outdated, still worthy of writing about on here. Back in 2006 Mercedes-Benz had a bike collection, in which their flagship model was a $3,670 ultra-lightweight carbon fiber frame.
The bike frame weighs just 18 pounds, and is targeted at both amateurs and professional cyclists. As with a Mercedes vehicle, you can expect high-end components to be used. The bike utilizes a Shimano (Dura-Ace) drive system, gears, brakes, and wheels.
Only 199 units were made, so consider yourself lucky if you’re able to find on

The recently presented Wood Wood x Vision Bicycle was showcased in France last week. With it came not only a full-circle project for Danish store/brand Wood Wood but also the highlighting of a innovative and well designed piece of engineering. Aside from the graphical additions on behalf of Wood Wood, the bike itself features carbon fiber construction and translates it into a frame weighing in at only 4.7 kgs (approximately 10.34 lbs). |
ATech bicycle GPS receiver can mount to a standard 1″ bicycle handlebar, and with its integral antenna and a speedometer, it can accurately display your location within 10 meters and your speed on an easy to read LCD.
